Elizabeth Ann Brady

After a difficult, but relatively short illness, my mother, Betty (Elizabeth) Brady (aka Betty Day and Betty Diamond during her lifetime) sadly passed away in October 2008, aged just 59 years old. She was the world to me and I will miss her dearly. My childhood memories are full of happy times and joy from the laughter and love that she gave, and my adult memories are full of the friend I grew so close to, for support and guidance throughout my troubled life. As The Year Passes

As October all but closes
and colours fade to brown
on all the leaves that have fallen
all over, all around.

Each month that's passed has reminded me
of a phrase that is too often stated
and of this I must say' "time's healing way"
has been very much over-rated.

For it's been just a year since we parted
yet heartache, I've never felt more
my life has still got a place where you fit
that sits empty, and will evermore.

As the season's have passed, they remind me
of the qualities that made you so dear
and I take each thought, and hold on, so tight
in my memory, my heart, so near.

For Springtime is a reminder
of the seeds of life that you planted
tending to their every need
giving all we ever wanted.

Then Summertime reminds me
of the warmth I always felt
whenever in your presence
no matter what life dealt.

Then Autumn is a stark reminder
that all good things must end
as blossom falls and leaves turn brown
I miss my mum, my friend.

And finally in to Wintertime
When I remember your Christmas love
Here's hoping my love and devotion
will reach you in heaven above.

Happy Birthday Mam

Another day has passed me by,
but this one's like no other,
for today is the day I remember,
as the birth day of my mother.

Each year before on this very day,
has been cause for celebration,
but i know today, deep in my heart,
there will be no more elation.

For when you passed, you took with you,
a part of my heart and soul,
and the place inside me, where happiness laid,
is bare now, nothing but a hole.

But life still goes on, as no doubt it will,
leaving memories behind in the cold,
Though my love for you, shall never end,
and will comfort me until I grow old.

Mother's Day

As Mother's Day was nearing,
Thoughts raced round my mind,
This will be the first year without you,
And your love, so true and kind.
Started thinking how much I still miss you,
And the millions of things left undone,
But what I miss most is the simplest of all,
Just to say thank you for being my mum.

To say Thanks for the love and the guidance,
And Thanks for the help over time,
Thank you for giving your all to me,
And making these memories mine.

Thank you so much for the mothering,
That you gave to us all every day,
But thanks most of all for the years of devotion,
I love you, in peace may you lay.

Loving Mother

It's happened many times and it will happen many more,
A loved one leaves her family, and walks through heaven's door,
Broken hearts are left behind, being strong for one another,
Please tell us lord, how we will cope, without our loving Mother.

Her final day has endeth, her smile we'll see no more,
She lay in peace now resting; our hearts are left all sore,
We wish we'd said more often just how wonderful you are,
Now we must learn to go through life, without our loving Ma.

Loving Mother, Please explain to me,
How to live our lives without maternal company,
Without your motherly affection and your love that was like no other,
Please help us Lord to carry on, without our loving Mother.

For we must carry on you see, and do the things we should,
Be there for all our children, and guide them as Mum would,
Supporting them as she did us, through troubled times and bother,
